PAID IN FULL.

READ 1 Corinthians 6:19, 20.

" You are bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. " 1 Corinthians 6: 20 ( KJB )

We met Lie and Ding, two Asian doctors in our local supermarket. They often visited our home and became special friends. But now it was time for them to leave our city. On their final day we visited a little Restaurant for a farewell treat.

While Harrold showed our friends to their seats, I ordered the cakes and coffee, for which I paid, then sat at the table, where we enjoyed the time of friendship and fellowship. We talked of the wonder of God’s love and Jesus’ sacrificial death, and prayed for our two dear friends, who formerly lived under atheistic control. But it was then time to leave the shop, and say farewell.

As we walked to our car, a lady ran behind us. With profuse apologies, and then with slight hesitation, she said,

"Oh, please forgive me – but I am sorry to ask you – did you pay for the food? " and she blushed with embarrassment.

Quickly I realised her dilemma. We had talked for an hour, and during that time this lady came on duty, replacing the former attendant to whom I had paid the money, and who then finished her shift for the day.

" Yes, yes," I assured her, " I paid the full price to the lady who served me. You can be sure of that. You ask her when you next meet her. She will remember our Asian friends, as she specially spoke to them." While the lady accepted my explanation, she continued to apologise.

" I am very sorry, but I had to make sure that you paid," and we all nodded sympathetically ads she hurried back to the shop.

No money changed hands for the cost of our salvation. Yes, Judas sold Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. But when the Lord Jesus died on the cross and shed His precious blood we can be sure and certain that He paid the full price of our salvation.

PRAYER: .Thank you, God, that you made the perfect provision for me to enter heaven. Thank you I am certain of eternal life through the price paid for my sin.

Thank you that I may serve you with a clean heart, knowing I am loved and forgiven.

THOUGHT: God’s provision is always perfect, for spirit, soul and body.

PRAYER FOCUS: Lord, bless those who are taking the precious message of God’s love to all nations, especially to whom who have never heard.
