DOES ANYONE KNOW THAT YOU LOVE GOD.

Mr Bill knew that he must work well to build that swimming pool. The weather grew hotter and he knew that the home-owner, Mr Brake, anticipated the coolness of the pool in the summer.

So Mr Bill enjoyed building, and with the foundation set, he began to lay bricks, and fashion the pool with his best workmanship.

On this hot day his kind boss offered his icy-cold orange juice loaded with ice blocks. But now and then as Mr bill worked, a brick broke. A few minutes later the handle of his trowel snapped, but Mr Bill fossicked in his bag for a substitute, and patiently continued working. He always did his best work in every way.

But this day although he took time to repair his tools, he remained calm and laboured on, always working well, no matter what happened. Some troubles occurred when tools broke so that he worked longer than expected.

Mr Bill’s boss observed his careful work. After setting the foundations and the brick-work, the facing, and the floor of the pool, he laboured so patiently, until at last he completed the pool.

At the end of the day while his employer and Mr Bill shared a cold drink together, Mr Brake remarked

‘Mr Bill, are you a christian? ‘

‘Well, yes, I am,’ answered Mr Bill surprised by the question, because during the breaks for cold drinks his boss had not stopped to talk.

‘What makes you ask that question?’ enquired Mr Bill.

‘Well, I observe that you do not smoke. I have heard no swearing when something breaks. Usually men swear at those times. You are different. Your work is excellent.

I suppose you do not drink alcohol, and you are so peaceful.’

‘Yes, you are right, sir, on each count. But that does not make a christian because of what I do not do. I am a christian because I love the Lord Jesus Christ, and belong to Him. He is my Saviour, and God is my heavenly Father. You mentioned things I do not want to do., as an honour to God. I live to please God.’

‘Sir, may I tell you how I became a christian, and who created the change in my life.’

And Mr Bill’s boss invited him to tell him how his life changed because he trusted in Jesus.
