Bill Pomery    -    Foreword

 May the Name of our dear Lord be magnified as we briefly summarise God‘s unique servant.    Bill Pomery was faithful to his Lord from the hour of conversion,   like Paul’s dramatic Damascus Road rehabilitation with the risen Lord.

Flights to Adelaide for weekly studies 240 miles or 390 kms, enabled the Pilot to knock up flying hours- and Bill to drink in the study of the Word.    He buoyed up and strengthened us .

He maintained his athleticism, averaging in Cricket 50 runs and taking 5 catches in a match. .   He sternly rebuked cricketers,   who blasphemed his dear Lord.    His dignity and bearing as Mayor magnified his courageous rebuke.   Men respected and admired him, being moved at his godliness.

The Stawell gift is a national event.    Heavy handicapping deprived Bill of success in this world-famous amateur race.

Naracoorte relished his writing for the local press.    The Editor values Bill’s strong, vigorous expression. He continued to a heroic missionary servant.  

Flowers for morning services took prizes at country shows.   Trees and vegetables were a basis of support for dear friends locally and distant. Oh, the luscious quinces and grape fruit.

True bible preaching is rare.    Bill as elder, jealously and powerfully taught the   eternal Word.   Believers flocking from far longed to hear the precious word of God.   I was deeply honored to preach in the former bake-house, such holy ground.    The fire of God replaced the baker’s coals.

The Lord of glory light a fire in your heart as you study the colorful life of His beloved servant.

I am deeply honored to sketch this portrait of God’s beloved, faithful Warrior, Brother Bill.
