THE LORD LIFTED ME UP.  Psalm 40:1-3

The Lord lifted me up
When to Him I drew nigh;
While I waited patiently,
He heard my humble cry.

My prayer was taken up-
He loves to hear my call;
When in our need His throne we plead,
He hears us one and all.

Praise Him! He brought me up
From out the miry clay;
I’m no longer in the pit-
He washed my sins away.

Now He has set me up,
He took me by the hand;
My feet now are on the rock,
On solid ground I stand.

By grace I am kept up,
He keeps my steps each day;
By His hand He helps me stand,
Establishing my way.

Each day I am tuned up
To praise Him all day long;
My mouth is filled with praise-
I sing the new, new song.

Help me to be used up
In loyal service true;
May I be a guide post, Lord,
To point the way to you!
