IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH.

This majestic, opening statement is the most challenged truth in academic realms. God spoke of His presence, His creative acts, and has given us the evidence.   Man was not present, has formed his conclusions and claimed acceptance of ‘science’, with fragmented, accumulated knowledge, expanding from each age. I present God’s record of his magnificent creation; which demolishes evolution as a hypothesis.

John1:1-3 The Holy Spirit gave John,   close friend of our beloved Lord, to   open his gospel, ’In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. John’s word cannot be   challenged, ’ All things were made through Him, and without Him, nothing was made that was made.’ Christ is ’logos’, the Word: the personal wisdom and power of God in union with the Lord Jesus.    

The writer to the Hebrews commented on creation’s onset, ‘ You Lord in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth. And the heavens are the work of Your hands.   They will perish, but you remain.’ (1:10) The Lord founded His universe.

Our Lord established spiritual laws and eternal principles, while He initiated the physical laws for His material universe.   In scientific disciplines,   man has uncovered only some of God’s unchangeable standards: for example, gravitational, medical and every branch of science and laws of   thermodynamics.

King David wrote of God’s creative power, ‘The heavens are Your’s; the earth also is Your’s; the world and all its fullness, you have founded them. The north and south you have created them.   You have a mighty arm; strong is your hand and high is your right hand’ (psalm 89:11)   He claimed God owned the heavens; the earth was His also; ( not the Greenies ) while the natural intricacies   were God’s masterpiece.   God devised our compasses, where north and south poles are opposed.    Does the right hand indicate the Lord Jesus’ presence in creation?  

David continued in Psalm 102:25,’ Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.   David wrote by the infilling and direction of the Spirit of God. David alluded to the new heavens and earth, for ‘They will perish, but You will endure.’   David contended that the Lord established the earth and the heavens were His craftsmanship.  

In Psalm 115:15, David wrote,‘ May you be blessed of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.’ He explained, ‘The heaven, even the heaven of heavens, are the Lord’s, but the earth He has given to the children of men.’ He who fashioned or moulded heaven and earth is well able to enrich His children, especially as He devoted the earth to refine mankind.   The temperature of our planet, the photosynthesis miracle ( release of CO2 and absorption of oxygen ), congenial symbiosis, ( mutually beneficial relationship) show how creation is linked with heaven’s choicest blessing. You impoverish God’s people when   you deprive them of His creation.

During his medical course, Carl followed his professors in accepting evolution not as a hypothesis, but reality.    He heard the faithfully-preached word of God weekly, dismissing it as unrealistic.   His mother and sister persistently prayed for him. Six years later, he completed medicine, and devoured Henry Morris’ Genesis Record‘, scientifically accurate and biblically precise exposition. Carl surrendered to the Lord.   His Christian Ministries International publications are read in 140 countries; supported by a team of 10 Ph.D‘s.   Reassured by God’s word, many welcome Christ as Lord and Saviour, accepting His creation and redemption through His substitutionary death.   No room for compromise.

Our overpowering conviction for God as Creator shriveled because current academic, degenerative theory defies God’s law of heredity, insisting that we came from lower species. Raise your standard.

David in Psalm 148 shows how the Lord commanded the creation of the heavens and ionosphere. The ionosphere absorbs ultraviolet light lest human and animal life be scorched: and mediates short-wave radio transmission, used to reach millions from countless nations with the precious gospel. In our years in Indonesia, short-wave from HCJB in Ecuador was our main source of bible teaching and news. God’s creation will evoke praise.   When we debunk our Creator, we pervert praise to derision, and revoke His authoritative superiority, even contradicting our common sense, offering alternative, unacceptable views, which shock and insult the intellect of the hearer.

We oppose our Creator, when we expose our selves and nation to unbelief and satanic deception. Australia is reaping the fruit of this insidious attitude.    

‘Praise him you heaven of heavens, and you waters above the heavens ( that is, the ionosphere ) .   Let them praise the name of the Lord, for he commanded and they were created.’ (v4 ) Let’s join   those magnifying our Creator’s name.

The wise Solomon wrote of Wisdom, so proclaiming the Messiah. Proverbs 8 :22 factually portrays wisdom as Christ   being alongside the Father in the masterly work of creation. ‘The Lord possessed me in the beginning of His way, before His works of old. I have been established from the beginning, before there was ever an earth. When He prepared the heavens I was there.’   As a comprehensive view of creation, I quote in full.   ‘When there were no fountains abounding with water; before the mountains were settled, before the hills I was brought forth, while as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, or the primeval dust of the world. When he prepared the heavens I was there, When he drew a circle on the face of the deep, when he established the clouds above, when he strengthened the fountains of the deep, when he assigned to the sea its limit there, so that the waters would not transgress His command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth.’

 Then   the unchallengeable testimony: ‘Then I was beside Him as a Master Craftsman; and I was daily his delight, (telling of   intimate oneness of Father-Son),   rejoicing always beside Him, rejoicing in His inhabited world, and my delight was with the sons of men.’ Paul told how Christ is made unto us wisdom from God , and righteousness, and   sanctification and redemption. (1 Corinthians 1:30)   Who can clearly understand this and not marvel at the truth?

Proverbs 8:22-24. ‘The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His ways, before His works of old. I have been established from everlasting from the beginning, before there was ever an earth.’ The Lord totally controlled the beginning.

Solomon spoke again in Ecclesiastes 12:1: ‘ Remember now your Creator, in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, I have no pleasure in them.’ How readily we forget, hence the command   to remember our Creator during the formative years, when our bodies , our souls ( minds, emotions and will )   and spiritual lives are being shaped.   Australia faces violent days, as the ‘difficult’ ones are accurately translated by Strong’s concordance as ‘evil, wicked, malignant, vicious and miserable.’   When scholars audaciously detract from God’s creation, they plunder God’s majesty, and minimize moral accountability. Sexually permissive   society follows among believers and unbelievers, as seen in 50% marriage breakdown.  

Isaiah affirmed our Lord as Creator without peer. God has displayed His craftsmanship in full view of   every nation, challenging us to see what great things He has done.    ’ To whom will you liken Me, or to whom shall I be equal, says the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name. ( 40:25)   Christ, the eternal surgeon, must extract cataracts of unbelief, replaced not by acrylic lens, but the gracious 20/20 Holy Spirit vision.

Isaiah defends the Lord for His untiring nature and that man cannot search out or grasp His understanding: for God is infinite- man is finite.   No academic achievement qualifies mere man to question   the eternal God.   ’Have you not known?   Have you not heard?   The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary.   There is no searching of His understanding.’ Don’t be intimidated or ridiculed by academic prowess: as often practiced.      God’s word is true; unrivalled, and cannot be contested.      

Centuries before the electronic microscope or telescope, Isaiah wrote precisely of embryology and astronomy, possible only by the specialized direction of the Holy Spirit. ’Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb: I Am ( exercising His divine prerogative ) the Lord who makes all things, who stretches out the heavens all alone, who spreads abroad the earth.’(Isaiah 44:24)   God controlled your embryonic development and your children; and in ’spreading forth’ the heavens, which He ’stretched out, extended, spread out, inclined, bent’ as Strong’s Concordance expands the Hebrew.   This annuls a fanciful, ‘big bang’ theory where explosion, or rupture like nuclear fission from refined uranium is man’s alternative to God’s plain statement.   1945, Hiroshima produced no orderly constellations: only shattering, distortions, rubble, death.

The New Testament powerfully witnesses to Creation truth, seeing that Peter and John in the days of His flesh had walked with their Lord, Who was Creator and Sustainer of the universe.   They saw incarnation and resurrection blended in His glorious Person. The Sanhedrin terrorized them ‘Not to speak any more in that Name’ ( that is the name of their Lord ); then intimidated   them.   Peter and John extolled their risen Lord as they prayed, ‘ Lord, You are God, Who made the heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them ; (Acts 4;24 ) The creation truth comforted them during intense persecution,( as in China, North Korea, Eritrea, )which reassures us   when facing oppression and tyranny.

At Areopagus in intellectual Greece, Paul boldly contended that the Lord created the universe; His lordship was exercised in heaven and earth; he gave life to every breathing creature; even though Paul did not understand respiratory exchange of oxygen for carbon dioxide; the life of the flesh was in the blood.   Paul widely embraced truth.   Courageously he defended the gospel:   ’I proclaim to you:   God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.   Nor is He worshipped with men‘s hands as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth. And has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation.’ (Acts 17:24)

May God make us daring to speak of our Lord like Paul.

For 120 years, Noah built an ark for the saving of his family:   it had three stories reflecting the three -fold nature of the Godhead; one door, representative of Christ the only Door; pitch plastered inside and outside, indicative of the covering or atoning power of Christ’s blood. The sun setting nightly and subsequently rising is a celestial reminder of His death and resurrection. Our Lord claimed that ‘He was the water of life, (as Christ flows to all men ), chemically identical with ice ( representative of the Father in crystalline form ) and steam, occupying 1600 times the volume of water, showing the dynamic of the Holy Spirit.   This exhibits the Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.   In the seven colors of the rainbow spectrum, God reminds all that He will not again judge the world by flood.   `Rather by fire. Mindful of the ark and a thousand illustrations, Paul did not pull punches in Romans 1:20, ‘Since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.’   Don’t pull your punches: truth will last 16 rounds.

God’s creation has many wondrous secrets, hidden in the unsearchable riches of Christ. Paul wrote in Ephesians 3:9, ‘To make all people see what is the fellowship of the mystery , which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God, who created all things through Jesus Christ.’ Deny the Creator and obscure the treasures available to believers.     As we study the word of God the Holy Spirit takes the secrets of Christ and reveals them to us. Hidden treasure.

Paul wrote to the Colossian church of redemption through blood, of forgiveness, of Christ the image of the invisible God, even the first-born over all creation, before the striking fact, ’By Him all things were created, that are in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible , whether thrones or dominions, or principalities or powers.   Then the final declaration, ’All things were created through Him and for Him. And he is before all things, and in Him all things consist. (1;15)     Strong’s describes ’consisting ’ as being bonded together, or composed.   The Creator harmonizes His physical universe:   much more His precious redeemed children. Plutonium, enriched uranium, releases immeasurable power, which our Lord had locked in to its original form. Where else its source?

 Hebrews 11:3 is compelling , ‘By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things that were seen were not made of things which are visible. Let’s rediscover the wonder of our faith in the Lord Jesus.    Creation demands a firm trust.   Unbelief denies His creative power and substitutes a hypothesis of evolution:   for the just shall live by faith. We recognize the mystery of bible belief.

Surprisingly, Revelation, the final book in the bible has striking references to our beloved Lord as Creator. They prostrated themselves, and extolled Him; they cast their coronets; acknowledged He was worthy to receive accolades of heavenly elders: recognized that He is the Fashioner and Preserver   of His universe.   ‘When the twenty four elders fell down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives for ever and ever , and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,   ’You are worthy, O Lord.   to receive glory, honour and power, for You created all things, and by your will they exist and were created. ‘(4:11) God willed creation with its perfect function.

While man persistently denies His glorious workmanship, heaven resounds with praise.   Champion Him and His inventiveness.   Tune your harp!

The initial creation is contrasted with the creation of the new heavens and new earth in Revelation 21:1. ‘ I saw a new heaven and new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.   Also, there was no more sea.‘ ’It  is done. I Am the Alpha and Omega.   I will give of the fountain of the water of   life freely to him who thirsts.’ John, so deeply beloved of his   Lord during his earthly ministry, spoke confidently of Him, the Beginning and End, of life itself, who will quench the deepest thirst of all who call upon Him.

Light has its own wavelength, which may accompany music of the masters as in famous fountains, with spraying of water columns. The entire universe enjoyed a unique, musical orchestra. Heaven’s harmony melted away being replaced by discords and jangled music, when sin invaded God’s marvelous existence. ’We know that the whole universe groans and travails with birth pangs together until now, eagerly waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.’   With our Lord’s second coming, when He must reign for 1,000 years,   the morning stars will again vibrate from   heaven and the sons of God will sing again, filling the entire universe with hallelujah Choruses.   Christ will be the Maestro, conducting this symphony, while we tunefully obey Him.                                                                                                                        

Job 38: 7 reads, ‘When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy, which is ‘a ringing cry in joy, exultation and praise.’

‘Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth,?’ (v8) the Lord asked.          

‘If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation; (the Father’s superb, eternal, incomparable workmanship ) old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.’ (2 Corinthians 5:17)
